PUT A BIRD ON IT
LELA  LINT

JUNE 26-AUGUST 3

About the Exhibition

Imagine a vibrant canvas where an acrylic paint pour creates a mesmerizing backdrop of swirling colors. Amidst this colorful chaos, a hand painted bird stands out with delicate precision. The combination of the free-flowing acrylic pour and the detailed hand painted bird creates a striking balance between spontaneity and control, making the painting both dynamic and harmonious.

Artist Statement

I live in Columbus, Ohio and since my retirement from Upper Arlington School District, I have been spending more time in the creative arts. I enjoy painting and making jewelry that incorporates my paint pours into earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets making each piece an original piece of art. Most of my acrylic paintings become environments for my hand painted birds. The fluid paint shows life’s unpredictability, while the bird highlights the piece with beauty and grace. My paintings encourage viewers to appreciate the present moment and find charm in both the random and the intentional.

For the past several years I shared space in an art studio at Chromedge in Franklinton and participated in several group shows around the community such as at Wild Goose Creative. Most recently I joined the Ohio Art League as a member and have had the opportunity to show my work in group shows at RAW Gallery, and the Palmer House at the Broad Street Presbyterian Church. For about a year I have been participating at the 83 Gallery in Franklin Park on Bryden Rd. I’ve also shown work at Global Gallery and am a consignment artist selling work at the Golden Hobby shop. I just finished a show at One Line Coffee shop that was up for a month. Mostly recently I have three pieces of work hanging in the Franklin County Forensic Science Center for a show called Shadow to Light: Breaking Down the Stigma Against Addiction and in Ohio Art League’s Palmer House for a show called the Art of Healing.
