Audubon Adventure Camp 2026 – Habitat Hikers
Audubon Adventure Camp offers campers’ opportunities to explore nature and make friends in the urban oasis of Scioto Audubon Metro Park. Campers learn about the environment through hands-on activities including hiking, rock climbing, fishing, birding with binoculars, outdoor games, crafts, and so much more! Join us this summer to help your camper foster a love for the natural world.
2026 Camp Offerings
Preschool Camps
This summer we are partnering with CCS Early Childhood Education department to offer FREE preschool summer camps to campers residing within the boundaries of the Columbus City Schools district.
There will be four sessions of preschool camp:
June 15th – June 19th 9:00am-12:00pm
June 15th – June 19th 1:00pm-4:00pm
July 20th – July 24th 9:00am-12:00pm
July 20th – July 24th 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Please note preschoolers may only attend either a morning OR an afternoon camp session within the same week. Preschool camp sessions have 12 spots each.
2nd-4th Grade Camps
This summer Audubon is offering two sessions of summer camp for campers entering 2nd- 4th grade. Campers are highly encouraged to attend both weeks of summer camp!
Habitat Heroes
6/8/2026 – 6/12/2026 M-F 9:00am-4:00pm, 2nd-4th Grade (ages 7-9): Become a habitat hero this summer! Campers will explore the parks four different habitats- river, forest, prairie, and wetland- and discover the qualities that make each of them unique. Campers will learn how they can become habitat heroes by practicing conservation. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, fishing, wetland netting for macroinvertebrates, shelter building, crafts, outdoor games and more! Although not required, campers are highly encouraged to sign-up for both weeks of camp!
Avian Advocates
7/27/2026 – 7/31/2026 M-F 9:00am-4:00pm, 2nd-4th Grade (ages 7-9): During the first week of camp in June, campers learn about habitats and how to help protect them. Join us again in July during this second week of camp while we focus on the birds that call those habitats home. Discover the Important Bird Area (IBA) surrounding our center and dive into the avian world. Activities include bird watching, field drawing, scavenger hunts, outdoor games and more! Campers who attend both June and July sessions will receive a FREE pair of binoculars.

Please note: Spots are limited. Filling out the interest form DOES NOT guarantee a spot in Audubon’s preschool camps. Interested applicants will be notified by April if their child receives a spot in a camp session. Preschool camp sessions have 12 spots each.
2nd - 4th Grade Camps

Please note: Spots are limited. Registration closes one week prior to the start of camp. 2nd - 4th grade camp sessions have 15 spots each.
Scholarships
A limited amount of camp scholarships are available to youth recieving free and reduced school lunches. An application form can be found below in the downloadable resources.
