Earth Day Volunteer Project
Come and join us as we clean up our beautiful Scioto River. After a long winter she has collected much trash and debris that will need to be picked up her shore along the Whittier Peninsula. Wear closed toes shoes that can get dirty and muddy. Removal of invasive honeysuckle is an ongoing battle in the Scioto Audubon Metro Park. Plan to get you work-out done for the day as you muscle out that pesky honeysuckle. New growth is easier for those of you who don’t really want to work out. Our gardens will be ready for some spring-time love, so plan to pull some weeds and plant some native plants to help out our birds and and other wildlife that depend on natives for the best food source. We have installed an Audubon at Home demonstration garden and an a nature playscape and both the these project need finishing touches. We will have gloves but bring your own if you prefer. After all your hard work join us for lunch and fellowship as we celebrate the good work you did for Mother Earth on her special day. Earth Day 2016 Registration coming soon!
