The Birds of the Great Lakes and How Audubon Is Working to Protect Them

April 23, 2019 - Columbus, OH

Please contact Columbus Audubon at columbusaudubon.org for any registration information

Please join us for the Columbus Audubon meeting and our speaker for the evening, Rebeccah Sanders. Here in Ohio, we're pretty fond of Lake Erie and all the Great Lakes, especially when it comes to places like Magee Marsh! Rebeccah will give an overview of the work that Audubon is doing in the Great Lakes. She will take a special look at species such as Piping Plover, Kirtland’s Warbler, Black Tern, and King Rail. The presentation will focus on the birds, the conservation strategy on the ground, and also how Audubon is stepping up in this era of dismantling environmental laws and regulations. Rebeccah Sanders serves as Audubon's Vice President for the Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi Flyway. She also is Senior Advisor to the Chief Conservation Officer of the National Audubon Society.

7:00 – 7:15 pm: Bird quiz and social time with light refreshments. Come and meet old friends…or make new ones.
